Thanks for using VoteWithMe! Here we describe how we collect, use and handle your information when you use our app and website ("Services").
We collect and use the following information to provide, analyze, improve and protect our Services:
Contacts. Our Services are designed to make it simple for you to reach out to people in your mobile device’s contact list, so you can remind them to vote.
If you grant permission via the App, you are allowing VoteWithMe to upload, process and store your mobile phone contacts to sync them with publicly available voter records. This is what enables VoteWithMe to show you the friends most in need of encouragement to vote. That is the only way we use your contact information.
We delete your contact information from our servers within seven days of receiving it. We will not reach out to your contacts, nor advertise to them, nor will we sell or share their information to anyone who would.
Your information. So that we can provide you with your own voting information, we collect, process and store your legal name, the state where you are registered to vote, and your birth year. We delete this information from our servers within seven days of receiving it.
Device Information. We also collect information from and about the devices you use to access the Services. This includes things like IP addresses, the type of browser and device you use, your general location, the web page you visited before coming to our sites, and identifiers associated with your devices. This helps us to provide, improve, protect, and promote the Services and provide customer support to you.
Cookies and other technologies. We use technologies like cookies and pixel tags to provide, analyze, improve, protect and promote our Services. For example, cookies help us with things like understanding how you are interacting with our Services, and improving them based on that information. You can set your browser to not accept cookies, but this may limit your ability to use various other services on the web.
We may share information as discussed below or with your consent or at your direction.
Others working for New Data Project. VoteWithMe’s organization, New Data Project (“NDP”), uses third parties (for example, providers of web server, error processing, or data processing services) to help us provide, improve, protect, and promote our Services. These third parties are authorized to access your information only to perform tasks on our behalf.
Contacting your network. If you choose to contact people in your network as facilitated by our Services, you will be contacting them directly, and like any person-to-person contact, your own contact information will be displayed.
Law & Order. We may disclose your information to third parties if we determine that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to (a) comply with the law; (b) protect any person from death or serious bodily injury; (c) prevent fraud or abuse of VoteWithMe or our users; or (d) protect NDP’s property rights.
We may share aggregated and anonymized data we collect with others.
Security. We use industry standard best practices to help keep your information safe.
Around the world. To provide you with the Services, we may store, process and transmit information in the United States and locations around the world—including those outside your country. Information may also be stored locally on the devices you use to access the Services.
